Overview

Velammal Engineering College (abbreviated as VEC) is a private institute situated in Chennai, the capital of Indian State of Tamilnadu. The college was set up in 1995 as the first engineering college to obtain an ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

Velammal Engineering College is affiliated to Anna University and accredited by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). It is also an ISO certified institution.

VEC provides four years full-time B.E/B.Tech program in 8 different specializations namely Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering and Automobile Engineering. It also provides M.E (Master of Engineering) in Computer Science & Engineering, Power System Engineering and Master of Business Administration course. The duration of the M.E and MBA program is two years.
