Overview

The merger of 4 universities and institutes resulted in the creation of in 2001. The institutes of Sushila Devi Centre for Professional Studies & Research Society, Law College Dehradun, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology and Uttaranchal Institute of Management were merged together to form the university. Currently, Uttaranchal University is one of the most important hubs of academics and education in the state. Thousands of students not only from all over Uttarakhand but also of national demographic come to study in the university.

The university conducts bachelors, masters, diploma, PhD and certification courses in PG and UG level under many disciplines like engineering, agriculture, management, law, pharmacy, journalism and many more.
