It was established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in 1985. It is accredited with an “A” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In 1994, it was declared as Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (Deemed University) by the Government of India under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
