The Hindustan College of Engineering is one of the finest educational institutions that is located in the heart of the city. Since 1992, the college has laid a strong foundation in the fields such as Arts, Science, Education, and Technical Education. The College also has a Hindustan Education and Charitable Trust, that is determined to provide quality education on par with global measures. Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology was started by a great industrialist and philanthropist of India Thiru.T.S.R.Khannaiyann, in the year 2000. The college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and is been approved by AICTE. The primary objective of HCET is to impart education and train the young minds of the country for leadership in the industry, government, and educational institutions. The college also aims to advance the knowledge base of engineering professions and shapes of the future of engineering aspirants by providing proper education and practice.

The college has state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities such as laboratories, computer centers, and a well-stocked library. Hindustan College of Engineering and Technology has MoU's with 18 leading industries and other organizations. MECH, CSE, ECE, and EEE departments are acknowledged as research centers by Anna University, Chennai. HCET admissions are done on a merit basis.
