    Bachelor of Commerce also is known by its abbreviation B.Com is a 3-year undergraduate academic program is one of the sought courses after higher secondary education. B. Com is the most preferred course among the students who have passed their 12th class in the commerce stream.  Major topics covered by this course are Accountancy, financial law, Economics, corporate tax, mathematics, etc.

    There are different types of B.Com courses such as B.Com General, B.Com Honors, and B.Com LLB. Students can choose the field of their choice Students can select a combination of subjects from those offered by colleges. B.Com is an academic program that equips students with an in-depth knowledge of the commerce field such as banking, finance, and accounting. Through the course, students are equipped with knowledge of various concepts such as import-export laws, economic principles, accounting principles, and various aspects that affect trade and business.

    Course Eligibility:

    In order to get admission in the college, students must fulfill the eligibility criteria given below:

    ·        Candidate must have completed 10+2 in any stream from a recognized board.

    ·        Aspirants should secure passing marks i.e. 33% to get admission to any college. Some colleges also specify that candidates should at least secure 50% aggregate marks to get admission to the college.

    ·        If you want to get admission in top universities such as Delhi University, Mumbai University or other prestigious universities, one need to secure more than 85% aggregate marks.

    ·        It is not compulsory to complete your intermediate level of education from a specific field. But, candidates who have completed their higher secondary education with Commerce stream might get preference over other students.

    Students can pursue B.Com program both honors and general in regular, online, or correspondence mode. Some of the Universities are:

    ·        Indira Gandhi National Open Univerisity (IGNOU)

    ·        School of Open Learning, Delhi University (DU SOL)

    ·        Allahabad University

    ·        Annamalai University

    ·        Jamila Milia Islamia University etc.

    Course Admission:

    A number of colleges across the country conducted merit-based admissions or entrance exams for offering admissions to the BA course for the students.

    1.      Merit-Based admission

    ·       The merit based admission procedure is followed by the majority of the colleges.

    ·       Through this process, candidates get selected on the basis of the marks secured in their higher secondary examination.

    ·       After the result of Class 12th is announced, the college will release their cut-offs list.

    ·       If the students have scored equal or more than cut off scores of the intended college, they will be eligible to get admission at that institute.

     

    2.       Entrance Based Exam

    ·         Some colleges conduct the entrance test to examine the knowledge of the students.

    ·         In this process, candidates after completing their intermediate level of education have to fill the registration form.

    ·         The college will provide the students with the exam schedule.

    ·         Students are then selected on the basis of the marks secured in entrance exams.

    Course Entrance Exams:

    Course Fee:

     

    Fees structure may vary from college to college. Government based university may cost less private University. The average fee structure for the B.Com program ranges from Rs.10, 000 to 4, 00,000 for the entire course.
