Course Eligibility Criteria:

·         The basic eligibility criteria to pursue BA course is to complete 10+2 in any stream from a recognized board.

·         Aspirants should secure passing marks i.e. 33% to get admission to any college. Some colleges also specify that candidates should at least secure 50% aggregate marks to get admission to the college.

·         If you want to get admission in top universities such as Delhi University, Mumbai University or other prestigious universities, one need to secure more than 85% aggregate marks.

Course Admission Process:

A number of colleges across the country conducted merit-based admissions or entrance exams for offering admissions to the BA course for the students.

·         Merit-Based Admission: Some colleges under Delhi University generate their cut off list, and if you have scored within that cut off then you can get admission into that particular college. The cut-off list for the colleges like Lady Shri Ram, Miranda House, Gargi College, etc., goes up to 98% for BA courses.

·         Entrance-Based Exams: Few colleges like Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University,  Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hindu Banaras University, DU and more take admission through entrance test like BHU DUET, JNUEE, NPAT, IPU CET, TISS NET, etc. After passing the entrance exam the college may conduct a personal interview round or offer admission directly.

Though, the admission procedure in both merit and entrance based exams are the same with registration, uploading documents and application fees.
